Genealogist-historian

Remote · piece-rate per completed stage

Ancestor research and family-line reconstruction across Russian Imperial and Soviet archival collections. You will prepare structured reports on findings at each stage.

Requirements
  • You have already traced your own family — built out at least part of your personal genealogy
  • You know the administrative-territorial divisions of the Russian Empire and understand how parishes were organised
  • You have experience writing to archives and visiting them in person
  • You understand how files are organised inside an archive (fondy, opisi, dela)
  • A genuine interest in genealogy is non-negotiable

Report-writing specialist

Remote · fixed retainer plus project bonuses

Turning raw archival findings and scanned documents into a coherent, readable family book or written report. Editorial work on historical material.

Requirements
  • Background in editorial work or copywriting on historical subjects
  • Comfort working with archival citations and footnotes
  • Careful attention to detail and strong written Russian
  • A grasp of pre-revolutionary and Soviet-era context is a plus
Conditions

  • Steady project flow — 2 to 5 reports per month
  • Path to a senior editorial role

Sales and client manager

Remote · base salary plus percentage on closed deals

First consultations with prospective clients, then guiding the project from first enquiry to handover of the finished artefacts. No cold calling — only inbound enquiries and warm leads.

Requirements
  • B2C client-service experience preferred
  • Articulate written and spoken Russian
  • Methodical, organised — every project runs 3 to 18 months
  • Interest in history and genealogy is a strong advantage
Conditions
  • Base salary plus a percentage on closed deals (average project value from 360,000 ₽)
  • CRM, internal messenger, documented workflows
  • Path to a head-of-client-service role
